🍓 Strawberry Waffles

⭐ Ingredients (4 waffles)

For the waffles:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp melted butter (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the strawberry topping:

  • 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 2–3 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
  • Optional: whipped cream or powdered sugar for serving

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the strawberries

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
  2. Toss gently and let sit for at least 10 minutes to release juices.

2. Make the waffle batter

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined (small lumps are okay).

3. Cook the waffles

  1. Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it.
  2. Pour batter into the waffle iron and cook until golden and crisp.

4. Serve

  • Top warm waffles with the sweetened strawberries.
  • Add whipped cream or a dusting of powdered sugar if you like.

🍽 Tips

You can also use frozen strawberries—just thaw and drain before sweetening.

Want extra strawberry flavor? Add ½ cup chopped strawberries directly into the batter.

For crispier waffles, increase the melted butter to 5 tbsp.
