🍓 Strawberry Waffles
⭐ Ingredients (4 waffles)
For the waffles:
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 4 tbsp melted butter (or vegetable oil)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the strawberry topping:
- 1 ½ cups fresh strawberries, sliced
- 2–3 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 tsp lemon juice (optional)
- Optional: whipped cream or powdered sugar for serving
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Prepare the strawberries
- In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice.
- Toss gently and let sit for at least 10 minutes to release juices.
2. Make the waffle batter
- In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined (small lumps are okay).
3. Cook the waffles
- Preheat your waffle iron and lightly grease it.
- Pour batter into the waffle iron and cook until golden and crisp.
4. Serve
- Top warm waffles with the sweetened strawberries.
- Add whipped cream or a dusting of powdered sugar if you like.
🍽 Tips
You can also use frozen strawberries—just thaw and drain before sweetening.
Want extra strawberry flavor? Add ½ cup chopped strawberries directly into the batter.
For crispier waffles, increase the melted butter to 5 tbsp.
